Are you an aspiring psychologist looking for hands-on work where you can gain valuable experience working with children who struggle with Special Educational Needs? Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of these children?
Come and join our dynamic school in the heart of Wantage who are on the hunt for a SEN Assistant to join their team of staff for an ASAP Start. You will have the opportunity to provide support to these students in either small groups or 1:1. These students have struggles with special educational needs that make learning a little tricky. These difficulties come in the form of ASD, Asperger's, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Dyslexia, Language difficulties and speech impediments.
You will have the opportunity to make a direct impact in the lives of these children by being there to support them with their academic and personal goals. You will be supported by the class teacher and be able to soak in all the knowledge and advice they can offer!
Your role will revolve around helping with general day-to-day running's of the classroom – this will include clearing up after lessons, helping prepare for lessons and providing general supervision over the classroom. You will also help deliver interventions and personalised education and healthcare plans to support the students.
You will also have the opportunity of being surrounded by a wonderful multidisciplinary team and be exposed to various techniques and therapies.
The successful Special Educational Needs Assistant:
- Will be calm and compassionate and be keen to make a difference in the lives of vulnerable children.
- Will have a positive attitude and be passionate.
- Must hold an enhanced DBS Certificate. If you do not have one, don’t worry. We can support you in your application.
- Must understand the importance of Safeguarding.
- Will be proactive and be able to facilitate a safe and encouraging learning environment.
