A specialist school in Devizes is seeking a motivating and empathetic graduate to join their friendly team as a Learning Support Mentor. In this role, you will support students with Special Educational Needs (SEN), helping to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
This is a fantastic opportunity for graduates considering a career in psychology, neurodiversity, education or mentalâhealth. The school caters to children and young people aged 3 to 16 with a range of needs, including learning disabilities, communication challenges, and social, emotional and mentalâhealth (SEMH) needs.
As a Learning Support Mentor, you will work both in and out of the classroom, offering personalised support that encourages emotional, social and academic growth. You will also help deliver interventions focused around emotional regulation and promoting selfâexpression.
The school uses creative, handsâon learning so expect lessons in music, cooking, drama, dance and art! Sensoryâbased learning and restorative practices are also key parts of the curriculum â as an LSA, you will help support with this, as well as rolling out other therapeutic techniques, often used in child psychology.
If you are a graduate and you are considering a career in Clinical Psychology, Educational Psychology, Occupational Therapy or Speech and Language Therapy, then this is a great place to start! Not only will you gain invaluable experience working with children with autism, learning difficulties and communication needs, you will also work alongside a multidisciplinary team of qualified therapists and SEN specialists.
