The Role – KS2 SEN Teaching Assistant
As a KS2 SEN Teaching Assistant working through Academics, you will:
- Provide 1:1 and small group support to KS2 pupils with special educational needs.
- Adapt learning materials and approaches to suit individual pupil needs.
- Assist in promoting independence, confidence, and social skills.
- Support the class teacher in maintaining a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Help manage behaviour in a supportive and consistent manner.
- Assist with personal care and wellbeing support where needed.
- Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, parents, and external professionals to achieve the best outcomes for pupils.
About You
To be considered for this KS2 SEN Teaching Assistant position, you should have:
- Previous experience supporting children with SEN (preferred but not essential).
- A patient, empathetic, and resilient nature.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- A proactive attitude and genuine passion for helping children overcome barriers to learning.
- A Level 2/3 qualification in Education or equivalent (preferred but not essential).
