This role is due to begin in September 2025 and is a permanent role.

The SLT of this school are seeking a passionate and creative KS1 Class Teacher who is looking to take that next step in their career and take on additional responsibility as a Science Lead. This Chelmsford primary school prides itself on its diversity and inclusivity and has a focus for seeing daily development from both pupils and staff.

The role of the KS1 Class Teacher and Science Lead will involve you leading the school to raise attainment in Science. This will include gap analysis of pupils' strengths and weaknesses to help close the gap between these pupils. You will be monitoring the progress and improving teaching across the Science subject.

As a KS1 Class Teacher and Science Lead, you will be supported by the school's senior leadership team. You will lead colleagues in formulation, review and evaluation in line with the Head Teacher and SLT. Together, with the senior leadership team and staff, this Head Teacher has high expectations of teaching and learning and endeavours to make the curriculum fun and creative.

You must be a passionate and creative primary teacher who is not afraid to share ideas and work together with the staffing team to make the Science curriculum exciting and enjoyable. You will have the opportunity to choose the year group that you want to teach from September depending on your preference and experience. You will be required to work alongside your partner teachers to plan, prepare and deliver lessons to all abilities.
