Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare and deliver engaging physics lessons across KS3 to KS5.
  • Use creative and innovative teaching methods to support a range of learning styles.
  • Assess, monitor and report on student progress.
  • Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment.
  • Contribute to departmental planning, meetings and school events.
  • Support students in both academic and extracurricular science activities.
  • Ensure safeguarding and promote student wellbeing.

Requirements

  • A degree in Physics or a related subject.
  • Recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS or equivalent).
  • Experience teaching physics, ideally up to A‑Level.
  • Strong subject knowledge and classroom management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development.
  • Passion for inspiring students and promoting scientific thinking.

Minimum Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Experience teaching physics in UK secondary schools.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
  • Legal right to work in the UK.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and the welfare of children.

Compensation and Working Conditions

  • Start date: September 2026.
  • Full‑time, permanent position.
  • Salary: MPS/UPS (dependent on experience and qualifications).
  • Competitive rates inclusive of holiday pay.
