A welcoming and inclusive mainstream primary school in Strood is seeking a caring and confident Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a Year 1 pupil who needs guidance with their learning journey and help with regulating frustrations.
About the Role
- Full-time, long-term position starting Term 4 / February 2026
- Providing consistent 1:1 support for a Year 1 pupil
- Assisting with early learning skills, activities and classroom engagement
- Using calm, nurturing approaches to help the pupil manage their emotions
- Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement tailored support strategies
- Helping to create a positive, structured learning environment
About You
- Experience working with children in KS1 (SEN experience essential)
- Patient, empathetic and able to remain calm under pressure
- Skilled in supporting emotional regulation and positive behaviour
- Creative in encouraging participation, progress and independence
- A strong team player with excellent communication skills
