Job Title: Maths Tutor – Prison Education Location: Sittingbourne, Kent Contract Type: Part-Time / Full-Time (Flexible) Academics is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Maths Tutor to deliver high-quality education within a prison education setting in Sittingbourne. You will support adult learners in developing essential numeracy skills, preparing for qualifications, and gaining confidence in mathematics. This role offers a unique opportunity to make a real difference in learners\’ lives, helping them build skills for future employment and personal development. Key Responsibilities: Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging maths lessons tailored to adult learners in a secure environment. Support learners in achieving accredited qualifications (e.g., GCSE Maths, Functional Skills). Maintain accurate records of attendance, progress, and lesson plans. Adapt teaching methods to meet the needs of learners with diverse abilities and backgrounds. Ensure a safe and supportive learning environment within the prison setting. Essential Requirements: Strong knowledge of mathematics at secondary level (GCSE or equivalent). Experience teaching adult learners, preferably in challenging or secure environments. Ability to plan and deliver engaging lessons suited to a range of abilities. Previous experience in prison education or secure settings. Knowledge of Functional Skills or other adult education qualifications
