Are you a qualified Dance and/or Drama Teacher looking for a stable, long-term role in a supportive secondary school? Academics are working with a welcoming school in Newcastle-under-Lyme, easily accessible from Stoke-on-Trent, who are seeking a committed teacher to join their team from May half-term. This is a full-time maternity cover, initially running through to Christmas 2026, with potential for extension for the right candidate.

About the Role:

  • Teaching Dance and Drama across KS3 and KS4
  • KS5 teaching desirable but not essential
  • Plan and deliver high-quality, engaging lessons
  • Full planning, teaching and assessment responsibilities
  • Track and monitor student progress, providing feedback and support

The Ideal Candidate Will:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in Drama/Dance or a related subject (essential)
  • Have recent experience teaching Dance and/or Drama in UK secondary schools
  • Be confident teaching KS3 and KS4 (KS5 beneficial)
  • Demonstrate strong classroom management and behaviour strategies
  • Be reliable, professional, and able to commit to a long-term placement
  • Hold (or be willing to apply for) an enhanced DBS
