Key Responsibilities of a SEN Teacher:- Plan and deliver differentiated lessons tailored to pupils with additional needs
- Support and implement EHCP targets and personalised learning plans
- Create a calm, safe, and inclusive classroom environment
- Manage behaviour positively using trauma-informed and de-escalation strategies
- Work collaboratively with teaching assistants and specialist staff
- Monitor progress and provide feedback to school staff and Academics consultants
- Promote pupil wellbeing, engagement, and independence
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) or equivalent
- Proven experience working in a special school or specialist SEN provision
- Strong knowledge of EHCPs, personalised learning pathways, and assessment for pupils with complex needs
- Confident behaviour management skills, including experience with SEMH and trauma-informed approaches
