Academics are seeking skilled Higher Level Teaching Assistants (HLTA) for temporary, flexible ongoing roles within welcoming primary schools across Rotherham.
This is a fantastic opportunity for confident HLTA staff who can lead learning, deliver interventions, and contribute to pupil progress across the curriculum.
Position: Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)
Location: Rotherham, South Yorkshire
Contract: Temporary, flexible ongoing positions
Pay: £115 – £145 per day (paid via PAYE – no umbrella fees)

About the Role
Working as an HLTA in Rotherham, you may deliver pre-planned lessons during teacher PPA time, lead small group work, or support targeted pupils to raise attainment.
You will support teachers, SENCOs, and leadership teams in creating an inclusive learning environment where pupils can thrive both academically and socially.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver planned lessons and learning activities during PPA cover
* Support pupils across EYFS, KS1 and KS2
* Deliver small group and 1:1 intervention
* Support curriculum planning and assessment where required
* Promote independence, progress, and positive behaviour
* Liaise with SEN and pastoral teams to support pupil needs
* Contribute to a safe, supportive and inclusive classroom environment
* Maintain high standards of safeguarding and professional conduct
Candidate Requirements
- Level 4 HLTA qualification with relevant experience
- Strong HLTA-level experience and Degree educated (essential)
- Confidence delivering lessons to whole classes
- Understanding of the primary curriculum and assessment
- Strong communication, teamwork and organisational skills
- Enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply)
