We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a specialist school in Essex, supporting pupils with a range of special educational needs in a structured and caring environment. This role is ideal for someone passionate about inclusive education and keen to support children who need additional help to access learning, build confidence, and develop life skills.
Responsibilities
- Supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis or in small groups throughout the school day in Essex
- Assisting the class teacher with delivering tailored lessons and activities
- Supporting pupils with communication, social interaction, and emotional regulation
- Helping to manage behaviour using positive and consistent strategies
- Adapting learning materials to meet individual needs
- Supporting pupils during transitions, breaktimes, and structured activities
- Encouraging independence, confidence, and engagement in learning within education and training
- Working closely with teachers, SEN staff, and therapists to follow individual support plans
