Academics, a well-established education recruitment agency, is currently recruiting enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistants to work on a supply basis within a range of specialist Provisions and SEN schools across Halifax.

The Role

  • Providing tailored support to pupils with Special Educational Needs, including but not limited to ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and additional learning needs.
  • Working on a 1:1 basis or with small groups to support learning and engagement.
  • Supporting the class teacher with behaviour strategies and classroom activities.
  • Helping to foster a nurturing, inclusive, and safe learning environment.
  • Adapting your approach to meet the individual needs of each pupil.
  • Following EHCP's.

Requirements Of a Supply SEN Teaching Assistant

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEN (school experience is advantageous).
  • A calm, patient, and empathetic nature.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team.
  • An enhanced DBS registered on the update service, or willingness to apply for one.
  • The legal right to work in the UK.
