Academics, a well-established education recruitment agency, is currently recruiting enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistants to work on a supply basis within a range of specialist Provisions and SEN schools across Halifax.
The Role
- Providing tailored support to pupils with Special Educational Needs, including but not limited to ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and additional learning needs.
- Working on a 1:1 basis or with small groups to support learning and engagement.
- Supporting the class teacher with behaviour strategies and classroom activities.
- Helping to foster a nurturing, inclusive, and safe learning environment.
- Adapting your approach to meet the individual needs of each pupil.
- Following EHCP's.
Requirements Of a Supply SEN Teaching Assistant
- Experience working with children or young people with SEN (school experience is advantageous).
- A calm, patient, and empathetic nature.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team.
- An enhanced DBS registered on the update service, or willingness to apply for one.
- The legal right to work in the UK.
