Are you a Graduate looking to further your experience with mental health? Are you passionate about making a meaningful impact on the lives of children with special educational needs (SEN)? This role is in a Special Needs School for children with disabilities seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Graduate to join their team as an SEN Teaching Assistant. This is a good opportunity for a recent graduate to gain experience working with individuals with learning difficulties and mental health challenges.
Responsibilities
- Support children aged 3 to 18 with a range of additional needs, including Autism, ADHD, speech and language needs, learning difficulties, Down syndrome, cerebral palsy and physical disabilities.
- Help pupils academically (e.g., Maths and English) and equip them with life skills, including social skills, interpersonal skills and independent living skills.
- Contribute to the school’s unique approach to learning, which includes activities in art, music, cooking and outdoor education.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Recent University Graduate (e.g., Psychology or Criminology) with an interest in SEN and mental health.
- Willingness to apply degree knowledge to classroom scenarios and gain first-hand experience for future career paths such as Psychologist, Counsellor, Therapist or Teacher.
- Flexible, patient, and proactive in supporting both the emotional and academic development of pupils.

- Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 3:30pm
- Salary: £85 to £100 per day
- Start: Immediate start
