An outstanding school in Slough are looking to employ an emotional support worker to start as soon as possible. If you are keen to get started and are up for a challenge, then apply now! The role of an Emotional Support Worker is a special one! You will be providing direct support and assistance to the students in the classroom. These students struggle with additional needs that include autism, ADHD, OCD, school avoidance, stress and anxiety. You will provide assistance in either 1 to 1 settings or in small groups. You will provide interventions that will help support the children and teach them healthy ways to cope and regulate their emotions. You will also be involved and help with the general running's of the classroom. This will include helping the class teacher with setting up of lessons, helping to prepare the lessons, keep the classroom a tidy and inviting environment, help with general supervision and manage general classroom behaviour. The ideal Emotional Support Worker will be kind, compassionate and have a passion for helping children. You will be up for a challenge and not only proactive but also take initiative. Many of the children that attend this school have education and health care plans so you must be able to adapt your approach to meet the needs of the children. You must have eligibility to work in the UK. We do not offer sponsorships. You must also have an enhanced DBS certificate or be willing to obtain one.
