Are you an enthusiastic and qualified EYFS Teaching Assistant with Paediatric First Aid training looking for temporary, flexible, ongoing and rewarding work across Early Years settings in Doncaster? Academics are seeking dedicated Early Years specialists to support learning within nurseries, Early Years units and Reception classes in warm, inclusive and supportive primary schools.
Position: EYFS Teaching Assistant (Paediatric First Aid trained)
Location: Doncaster, South Yorkshire
Contract: Temporary, flexible ongoing positions
Pay: 88.94 - 95 per day (dependent upon experience, training, qualifications and client rate available)
Start Date: ASAP or from a start date that suits you
About the Role
As an EYFS Teaching Assistant, you will support children aged 3-5 in developing early communication, social, emotional and physical skills through play-based learning and structured activities. Your Paediatric First Aid qualification will also ensure pupil safety and wellbeing, enabling you to respond appropriately to minor injuries or health needs in an Early Years environment. This role is ideal for an Early Years practitioner who is passionate about child development and seeking flexibility across local Doncaster Early Years settings.
Key Responsibilities
- Support play-based learning across Early Years (Nursery & Reception)
- Promote early communication, language and social development
- Provide 1:1 or small group intervention support where needed
- Assist with early phonics, early maths and continuous provision
- Contribute to observations and EYFS learning journey records
- Use Paediatric First Aid knowledge when required
- Encourage independence, confidence and positive behaviour
- Maintain a safe, nurturing and inclusive early years environment
Candidate Requirements
- Early Years/Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (essential)
- Paediatric First Aid certificate (essential)
- Recent experience within a nursery or EYFS setting
- Knowledge of Early Years child development
- Enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply)
- Excellent communication, patience and teamwork skills
