Role Overview

Academics is seeking a committed and enthusiastic Learning Support & Intervention Practitioner to support secondary-aged students with additional learning, emotional, and behavioural needs. This hybrid role combines learning support and tutoring, working closely with teaching staff to deliver targeted interventions both in school and off-site.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support and deliver individualised learning programmes under the guidance of teaching staff and the SENCo
  • Work flexibly with students with SEND, SEMH, trauma-related needs, or adverse experiences
  • Plan and deliver structured learning interventions and support sessions
  • Support emotional regulation, resilience, and positive behaviour
  • Monitor, assess, and record student progress using school systems
  • Communicate regularly with parents/carers and attend meetings as required
  • Support off-site learning activities and alternative provision placements

Person Specification

  • Experience working in a secondary education setting (essential)
  • Experience supporting students with SEND and/or SEMH
  • Understanding of trauma-informed or therapeutic approaches (training provided)
  • Strong behaviour management skills with a calm, reflective approach
  • Confident ICT and organisational skills
  • Minimum Level 2 English and Maths (Level 3 desirable)
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a car
