We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a Year 5 pupil who requires additional help with behaviour regulation and developing positive social interactions with peers. This rewarding role involves working closely with the class teacher and SENCo to create a supportive, structured, and nurturing environment that enables the pupil to thrive both academically and socially.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide consistent 1:1 support tailored to the pupil's individual needs
- Implement behaviour strategies and support emotional regulation
- Encourage and facilitate positive peer interactions and social development
- Adapt learning activities to ensure engagement and accessibility
- Monitor progress and provide feedback to staff and parents where appropriate
The Ideal Candidate Will
- Have experience working with children with SEN, particularly behavioural and social needs
- Be patient, resilient, and empathetic
- Demonstrate strong communication and teamwork skills
- Be proactive in supporting inclusion and positive relationships
- Remain calm and consistent in challenging situations
