We are seeking a committed, knowledgeable, and passionate Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) to join our supportive secondary school in Braintree. This is a key leadership role, offering the opportunity to make a significant impact on the outcomes and wellbeing of students with special educational needs and disabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Overseeing the day-to-day operation of SEND provision
- Coordinating and reviewing Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs)
- Supporting and advising colleagues on inclusive teaching strategies
- Monitoring the progress and wellbeing of students with SEND
- Liaising effectively with parents/carers and external professionals
The Ideal Candidate Will
- Be a qualified teacher with QTS
- Hold the National Award for SEN Coordination (or be willing to complete it within the required timeframe)
- Have experience supporting students with SEND in a secondary school setting
- Demonstrate strong leadership, organisation, and communication skills
