Are you an experienced Humanities Teacher with the skills and resilience to support young people in an alternative provision setting? Academics is currently working with a well-regarded Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) based in Birmingham who are looking to appoint a full-time Humanities Teacher from January 2026 on a long-term basis. This is a challenging but highly rewarding role, ideal for a teacher who is passionate about working with students who need a different approach to learning and behaviour support.
The Role:
- Position: Humanities Teacher (flexibility across History, Geography, RE)
- Start Date: December 2025 (Christmas Term)
- Contract Type: Full-Time, Long-Term
- Location: Birmingham
- Setting: PRU - supporting students with SEMH needs and challenging behaviour
What We’re Looking For:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) and experience delivering Humanities subjects
- Strong behaviour management and experience working with pupils with social, emotional or mental health needs (SEMH)
- A calm, consistent and empathetic teaching approach
- Confidence in handling challenging behaviour and adapting teaching strategies to suit individual needs
