Overview
Behaviour Support Assistant – Basingstoke. TA- Primary School in Basingstoke. ASAP Start – Excellent Mainstream Primary Establishment. 1:1 Support with SEN Child (Behaviour Support).
Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 support for a child with SEN (behaviour support) in a mainstream primary school.
- Assist the class teacher and work closely with the SENCO to implement strategies and manage behaviour.
- Deliver patience and consistent behaviour management; support a child with SEMH needs and, where relevant, autism.
- Support a child in Year 3 with an EHCP; understand SEMH, physical and cognitive delays as described.
Qualifications / Experience
- Experienced in a similar setting; former experience working with children with SEN, including autism and SEMH needs.
- Strong behaviour management skills to support a child displaying challenging behaviour.
- Willingness to commit to a long-term, full-time role; patient and supportive approach.
