Academics is working in partnership with supportive SEN and alternative provision schools in Huddersfield, who are seeking a dedicated Behaviour Mentor to join their passionate team.

As a Behaviour Mentor, you will work closely with pupils who need extra guidance to manage their emotions and behaviour in a positive way. You’ll provide one-to-one and small-group support, helping students develop confidence, self-regulation, and improved engagement in learning.

Key Responsibilities of a Behaviour Mentor
  • Support students with behavioural, social, and emotional needs both in and outside of the classroom.
  • Implement strategies and interventions that promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing.
  • Build trusting relationships to encourage confidence, motivation, and progress.
  • Work closely with teachers, pastoral staff, and parents to ensure consistency in support.
  • Track progress, attendance, and engagement, providing feedback to senior staff.
  • Model positive communication and resilience for students.

  • Experience working with children or young people with behavioural or SEMH needs.
