Academics are seeking an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive and welcoming two-form entry primary school in Beckenham, starting January 2026. As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely within a Year 5 class, primarily supporting pupils with behavioural and emotional needs to help them remain engaged, regulated, and confident in their learning. This is an excellent opportunity to join a school with a 'Good' Ofsted rating, recognised for its strong behaviour policies, inclusive ethos, and committed leadership team.

Location: Primary school in Beckenham

Start Date: January 2026

Role: Full-time, Monday to Friday

Salary: £95-£110 per day (dependent on experience)

Responsibilities:

  • Provide in-class and targeted support within a Year 5 classroom
  • Support pupils displaying challenging behaviour, helping them regulate emotions and remain on task
  • Implement positive behaviour management strategies and de-escalation techniques
  • Encourage engagement with learning and support academic progress
  • Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and pastoral staff to ensure consistent behaviour support
