A friendly and inspiring school in Abingdon are looking for an Autism Teaching Assistant to join their team immediately. The role runs Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 3:30pm, and is a fantastic opportunity for a recent Graduate or a caring individual interested in specialist education.

The SEN school caters for children on the Autistic Spectrum, and therefore the students need assistance with communication, social cues, fine motor skills, self-regulation, emotional expression and sensory processing. As the Autism Teaching Assistant, you will provide all students with the support they need to thrive in all areas of education, helping them academically, socially and emotionally. You will also help manage any challenging behaviour that may arise, and encourage positive decision making.

This is a fantastic opportunity if you are a recent Graduate interested in building your experience with special educational needs and mental health. You will gain a first-hand insight into development and neurodiversity, as well as the therapeutic and restorative methods used to help engage Autistic children. This will give you the experience essential to train as a Psychologist or Therapist in the future. This is also a great opportunity for a passionate individual looking to further their SEN experience.
