A thriving Primary School in Basildon is seeking a dynamic and experienced Assistant Head Teacher to join their dedicated team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual with a strong background in SEN or inclusion to take on a leadership role. The position is available to start as soon as possible, or after the Easter holidays, with the potential for the role to become permanent.
You will take a key role in promoting inclusion and championing SEN provision across the school, working closely with staff to ensure that students' individual needs are met and that high standards are maintained in all areas of the curriculum. You will have the opportunity to lead on various school-wide initiatives, including inclusion strategies, SEN provision, and supporting staff development. You will be a strategic thinker, highly organised, and able to inspire and motivate others, all while maintaining a nurturing environment for both staff and students.
Key Responsibilities:- Support the Headteacher in the strategic leadership and management of the school.
- Lead and develop the school’s approach to inclusion, ensuring high standards of provision for all students, particularly those with SEN.
- Work collaboratively with staff to monitor and improve the quality of teaching and learning across the school.
- Be responsible for developing and implementing policies and strategies that support the school’s SEN provision and inclusive practices.
- Lead professional development opportunities for staff to build their expertise in working with children with additional needs.
- Collaborate with parents, external agencies, and other stakeholders to ensure the best outcomes for students.
- QTS and a strong track record in teaching and leadership.
- A background in Special Educational Needs or inclusion, with experience leading initiatives to support students with diverse needs.
- Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with students, staff, and parents.
- A deep commitment to inclusion and ensuring that every child has access to the best possible educational opportunities.
- Experience of leading and managing staff, with a focus on professional development.
