A specialist secondary school in Chertsey, Surrey, supporting neurodiverse children and young people with a range of learning and behavioural needs. All students have an Education Health Care Plan (EHCP). The school offers a therapeutic curriculum and focuses on preparing students for GCSE and Functional Skills qualifications.

Role Overview:

This role is ideal for psychology graduates interested in working with neurodiverse students, including those with autism, Down\’s syndrome, speech and language challenges, and social-emotional needs. The position involves supporting students\’ educational and personal development, helping them access further education or training.

Key Features:

  • Small class sizes (6-8 students) with a focus on effective communication techniques
  • Use of specialist communication methods such as Makaton and PECS
  • Access to therapy rooms and support from SALTs, occupational therapists, psychologists, and counsellors
  • Extensive 1-1 support and an integrated therapeutic approach
  • Focus on preparing students for GCSEs and building tailored curricula
