Position: Mental Health Teaching Assistant
Location: Swindon
Salary: 85 to 95 per day
Start Date: Immediate
Responsibilities
- Support vulnerable children and teenagers with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
- Provide both academic support and emotional guidance to pupils who may also have additional learning difficulties such as Autism or ADHD or behavioural challenges.
- Help pupils develop essential skills including emotional literacy, self-regulation, positive social interactions, and resilience.
- Learn and implement relevant psychological support strategies, including CBT, behaviour support plans and restorative practices.
- Receive training on safeguarding and de-escalation techniques to address educational, social, and therapeutic needs of each student.
Qualifications
- Recent graduate eager to pursue psychology or therapy qualifications.
- Interest in supporting children with mental health needs in a school setting.
- Resilient, supportive, and open-minded, with the ability to start within the next few weeks.
