Responsibilities of an Aspiring Occupational Therapist:
  • Assist with 1:1 and group interventions to improve communication through personalized methods to accommodate each child's individual needs.
  • Encourage different ways to communicate and learn specialist communication methods such as Makaton, Sign Language, PECS, and TEACCH.
  • Work to significantly improve stutters, apraxia of speech, dysarthria, selective mutism, and speech delay.
  • Liaise with the class teacher, therapists, and support staff.
  • Monitor and report on students' progress, adjusting support plans as necessary to meet their evolving needs.
