SEN Teaching Assistant - ASD (1:1 Support)

Location: Chatham, Kent

Hours: Full Time

Start Date: ASAP

Academics Rochester are currently recruiting for an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a pupil with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in a mainstream primary school in Chatham. The successful candidate will have prior experience working with children with ASD and be confident supporting their academic, social, and emotional development within a classroom setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Providing dedicated 1:1 support for a pupil with ASD
  • Assisting with learning activities and classroom engagement
  • Implementing strategies to support behaviour and emotional regulation
  • Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO
  • Supporting inclusion within a mainstream setting

Requirements

  • Previous experience supporting children with ASD (essential)
  • Experience working 1:1 in a school setting
  • Patient, nurturing, and adaptable approach
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
