You will be working with a Year 6 child with Autism, providing tailored support to help them thrive both academically and socially. This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the life of a young student while working in a supportive and collaborative school environment. Key Responsibilities: Teaching Assistant – 1:1 Support – New Addington, Croydon Provide 1:1 support to a Year 6 child with Autism, ensuring their learning and emotional needs are met throughout the school day. Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement individualized learning plans. Support the student during lessons, providing assistance with tasks, social interaction, and transitions between activities. Encourage the development of independence, self-regulation, and positive behaviour. Foster a nurturing and inclusive environment that helps the student build confidence and achieve their potential. Assist in monitoring and tracking the student’s progress, reporting observations to relevant staff members. Support the student’s social interaction and integration with their peers, helping to facilitate meaningful relationships. The Successful Candidate Will Have: Teaching Assistant – 1:1 Support – New Addington, Croydon Experience working with children with Autism or other Special Educational Needs, particularly in a school setting (preferable). A patient, calm, and empathetic approach to supporting children. Strong communication skills, both with children and adults. The ability to adapt quickly to the needs of the child and respond flexibly to challenges. A passion for inclusive education and helping children to reach their full potential. Relevant qualifications in Special Educational Needs (SEN), childcare, or education (desirable but not essential).
