Do you have a passion for supporting children with learning difficulties? Are you kind, caring and patient? A Special Needs School in Abingdon is seeking a dedicated and caring Special Needs Teaching Assistant to join their team as soon as next week. You will be supporting children aged 3 to 16 with moderate learning difficulties, as well as children with autism and communication difficulties.

As a Special Needs Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students both academically and emotionally, helping them achieve their full potential. You will encourage positive social interactions and help students build effective relationships with their peers, while enhancing their communication skills. You will also provide pastoral care and help the class teacher to create an inclusive classroom where every student feels valued.

The school is eager to find a Special Needs Teaching Assistant who is caring and nurturing, with a positive attitude and a desire to help others. Previous experience working with children and/or adults with additional needs would be beneficial. A degree in a relevant field, such as Psychology, Criminology or Health & Social Care, would also be useful.

By working as a Special Needs Teaching Assistant at this school, you will further your SEN experience, with progression opportunities as an SEN Teacher, Speech and Language Therapist, Autism Practitioner or Educational Psychologist.
