I am seeking a Learning Support Assistant to join a school with a specialist team working with an individual child who is requires support with speach and language This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic individual who is committed to ensuring that students are supported to enjoy learning and to achieve in line with National expectations. A key element of this role will be the use of specialist skills to enable the student to access the curriculum. The successful candidates will therefore be ICT competent, have experience of working with assistive technology, or be willing to broaden their ICT knowledge to include Augmentative and Assistive Communication (AAC) and Assistive Technology. All training for this post will be provided. Good communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as there will be a need to clarify and explain instructions clearly and build effective relationships. Another aspect of the role will be to assist with the physical needs of the student including personal care and manual handling. The school is based in Portsmouth.
