Could you change a child's life by supporting children with special educational needs? Are you a QTS holding teacher with experience of supporting pupils with SEN needs? Are you confident in working with children with ASD, MLD, or other comorbid conditions? Have you ever had experience with Makaton or BSL (British Sign Language)?

The Job… Working in a small class of around 13 pupils, you will be delivering work to cover the whole alternative curriculum. The children have a range of SEN needs including ASD and MLD, across Primary year groups, mainly Key Stage 2. The school offers a nurturing and cheerful environment, promoting independence and interpersonal skills amongst its pupils, whilst delivering a highly individualised and specialised curriculum.

You’ll Be…

  • A Qualified Primary Teacher in possession of QTS
  • Experience of young people with SEN, disabilities or additional needs
  • Experienced working with primary aged pupils across Key Stage One (KS1) and Key Stage Two (KS2)
  • Able to hold student attention and focus with excellent communication skills
  • Promote happiness, self-reliance and encourage positive interactions
