About the Role:

As the Head of Geography, you will take on a pivotal leadership role, overseeing all aspects of the school's Geography curriculum. You'll be responsible for shaping the future of Geography across the school, ensuring students are equipped with the knowledge they need to succeed. You will lead a team of dedicated Geography staff and work closely to further develop the school's curriculum.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and lead the development of the school's Geography strategy and vision
  • Lead and develop the Geography department, ensuring high standards of service and support
  • Ensure the security and privacy of school data, and manage the school's cyber security measures
  • Provide training and effectively line manage staff within the department
  • Maintain and improve the school's Learning Management System (LMS)
  • Promote and lead the delivery of extracurricular Geography activities across the school

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Proven experience in a Geography leadership role, ideally in a school or educational setting
  • Leadership skills with the ability to inspire and manage a team effectively
  • Excellent communication skills to work closely with staff, students, and parents
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students
  • A relevant degree in Geography, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience)
