Academics are currently searching for an enthusiastic and committed individual to undergo the role as Head of Geography for one of our well established secondary schools in South Leeds. This will be a permanent role starting from September 2025!
The school is looking for an experienced and knowledgeable Geography specialist to provide strong leadership skills within the Geography department and to develop innovative approaches that will lead to the students reaching their full potential.
In the school's most recent Ofsted report, the school has been praised for providing a high quality curriculum and for their level of determination to ensure success for the students.
As a Head of Geography you will be responsible for the following:
- Facilitating the delivery of Geography across key strategic areas and liaising on timetable, planning and other curriculum issues.
- Developing appropriate and differentiated schemes of work at all key stages in conjunction with the department.
- Promoting and leading the delivery of all extracurricular Geography activities across the Academy.
- Effectively line managing staff within the department.
Essential requirements for the Head of Geography role:
- An honours degree related to Geography
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- A successful background of teaching Geography up to Key Stage 5 level.
- An enhanced DBS on the update service (or willing to apply for one)
