Overview

Classroom Support Assistant\’s required – Chandlers Ford / Eastleigh area, from January. Academics is seeking experienced and driven Classroom Support Assistants to work in local schools in Southampton and surrounding areas. We are recruiting for a number of schools in Chandlers Ford, Eastleigh who are looking for Classroom Support Assistants to cover daily/short-term supply and long-term contracts. We also support schools with permanent recruitment.

The role involves enabling young people to develop and make progress by providing physical, emotional and nurturing support during the school day, as well as supporting the Teacher in the classroom.

Responsibilities

  • Cover daily/short-term supply and long-term contracts in local schools.
  • Support students with a focus on physical, emotional, and welfare needs.
  • Assist the Teacher in delivering lessons and maintaining a stable, caring classroom environment.
  • Work on a 1:1 basis with children who are lower level learners or who have challenging behaviours when required.
  • Maintain health, safety, care and welfare of young people as a priority.

Working Hours

Ideally available Monday to Friday between 8.30am – 3.30pm. Many client schools prefer full-time placements for consistency.

Requirements / Qualifications

  • Strong behaviour management, confidence, motivation and organizational skills.
  • Patience, commitment and empathy; a genuine desire to help others.
  • Experience in a classroom or educational setting is advantageous, but other related experience will be considered.
  • DBS check: Must have a Child Workforce related DBS registered to the DBS Update Service or be willing to submit one.
