SEN Teaching Assistant - Upminster - October 2026 Start

Position Details

  • Location: Upminster
  • Start Date: October 2026
  • Contract: Full-time, Monday-Friday
  • Salary: Β£95-Β£100 per day

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide tailored support to pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN), helping them access learning and reach their full potential.
  • Deliver effective 1:1 and small-group support to develop pupils' academic, social and communication skills.
  • Work collaboratively with class teachers, the SENCO and other professionals to meet individual learning needs.
  • Promote independence, confidence and positive behaviour through patient, nurturing and child-centred approaches.
  • Support pupils with a range of additional needs, adapting activities and approaches to suit individual abilities.
  • Help create a safe, inclusive and engaging learning environment where every pupil feels supported and valued.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Has a genuine passion for supporting children and young people with Special Educational Needs.
  • Is patient, caring, proactive and adaptable.
  • Can build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
  • Has experience supporting children with additional needs, although candidates with transferable skills and a strong willingness to learn are also encouraged to apply.
