Responsibilities of a Higher-Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)
- Delivering lessons and supervising classes in the absence of the teacher.
- Supporting pupils both in the classroom and through small-group interventions.
- Working alongside teaching staff to help raise achievement and engagement.
- Encouraging confidence, independence, and positive behaviour.
- Helping to create an inclusive learning environment where every pupil can succeed.
The ideal applicant must
- Hold a relevant HLTA qualification, HLTA status, or have equivalent experience.
- Have proven experience in a similar school-based role.
- Hold up-to-date knowledge of the current primary curriculum.
- Have an enthusiastic approach to professional development and a desire to take on increased responsibility.
- Be confident leading and covering classes when required and support learning across all key stages.
- Have strong communication and behaviour management skills; able to build strong relationships with pupils and staff.
- Be adaptable, proactive and passionate.
- Be happy to travel and to be able to get to our partnership schools in
- Stoke-on-Trent or South Staffordshire by
8.30am with sometimes only 30-60 minute's notice for our on the day supply requirements.
Please be aware that your daily rate will be dependent upon experience, prior qualifications, training, and the client rate that is currently available.
