Academics are currently recruiting Secondary SEN Teachers for a range of teaching roles across Halifax.
We work with a variety of specialist and alternative educational settings, meaning we have different roles to suit different teachers - whether you're looking for experience in a specialist provision, a smaller class environment, a new challenge, or a role that allows you to focus on individual pupil needs.
As an SEN Teacher, you could be working within a small class, delivering a tailored and engaging curriculum designed around individual EHCP (Education, Health and Care Plan) outcomes.
Depending on the setting and role, you may be supporting pupils with a range of additional and complex needs, helping them to develop academically, socially and emotionally within a safe and nurturing environment.
Your responsibilities may include:
- Leading a small class and creating a positive, supportive learning environment.
- Delivering engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to individual needs.
- Adapting teaching strategies to meet a range of SEN needs.
- Building positive and trusting relationships with pupils.
- Working closely with TAs, support staff, families and other professionals.
- Monitoring pupil progress and contributing to assessment and EHCP reviews.

- Hold Qualified Teacher Status
- Have experience teaching within an SEN specialist provision, or hold a relevant SEN qualification
