Academics are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Learning Support Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Brighton. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with experience supporting children with additional needs who is passionate about helping pupils feel confident, included and able to reach their full potential.

The Role:

  • Support pupils with a range of SEN and additional needs
  • Provide individual and small-group support both in and outside the classroom
  • Help pupils access the curriculum and engage positively with their learning
  • Build positive and trusting relationships with pupils
  • Support pupils with their social, emotional and behavioural development
  • Encourage independence, confidence and positive behaviour
  • Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to provide consistent support
  • Adapt your approach to meet individual pupils' needs

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Previous experience supporting children with SEN/additional needs in a UK school setting
  • Experience as a Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant or similar
  • A patient, calm and nurturing approach
  • Confident supporting children with a range of additional needs
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Reliable, adaptable and passionate about working with children
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willing to apply for one
