About the Role
Academics are currently recruiting enthusiastic and dedicated Secondary Teaching Assistants to work on a supply basis in secondary schools across Calderdale.
This role involves supporting teachers in the classroom, assisting students with their learning, and helping maintain a positive and productive learning environment. Opportunities are available for both short-term and long-term placements.
Key Responsibilities
- Support classroom teachers in delivering lessons
- Assist students with learning activities and tasks
- Help manage classroom behaviour and maintain a safe, inclusive environment
- Support students with additional needs, where required
- Prepare resources and classroom materials
- Work collaboratively with teachers and school staff
Requirements
- Experience working in a school setting preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work with students across different age groups
- Reliable, adaptable, and proactive
- Commitment to safeguarding and student wellbeing
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
