Tradewind Recruitment are currently seeking an Alternative Provision Teaching Assistant to join a specialist AP setting in Milton Keynes. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced TA, Learning Mentor, Behaviour Support Worker or youth worker who wants to work in a smaller, more personalised educational environment where building positive relationships is at the heart of the role. The provision supports young people who may have experienced difficulties within mainstream education and require a different approach to learning. Pupils may present with SEMH needs, behavioural challenges, low confidence, anxiety, ADHD, ASC or other barriers to engagement . As an AP Teaching Assistant, you will play an important role in helping pupils re-engage with education, develop their confidence and make positive progress both academically and personally. Your responsibilities will include: Supporting pupils within lessons and providing 1:1 or small-group intervention where required. Building positive, consistent relationships with pupils and acting as a trusted and reliable member of the support team. Supporting pupils with SEMH and behavioural needs, using a calm and consistent approach. Encouraging pupils to engage with learning and helping them recognise and celebrate their progress. Supporting classroom behaviour and helping to maintain a safe, structured and positive learning environment. Working alongside teachers and pastoral staff to implement individual strategies and support plans.
