We are looking for a Mental Health Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated and supportive school community, working with children and young people across both primary and secondary age groups. This is a role where no two days are quite the same. You could be supporting a student one-to-one in the morning, helping a small group work together after lunch, and finding a creative way to re-engage a young person who has decided that today's lesson definitely isn't for them! What will you be doing as a Mental Health Teaching Assistant? As a Mental Health Teaching Assistant, you will provide individualised support to students who may experience ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) and co-existing mental health needs, as well as a range of challenges and barriers that can make accessing learning difficult. You will work to: Build confidence, independence and self-esteem Regulate emotions and manage challenges Engage with learning in ways that work for them Develop strategies that support their wellbeing and emotional resilience Celebrate their achievements - both the big milestones and the little victories!
