Working Pattern: Term-time only
Salary: £27,000-£35,000 per annum
Start Date: ASAP / November or December 2026

We are seeking a reliable and motivated School Finance Officer to join a welcoming primary school in Waltham Forest, London.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with previous school finance or school office experience who is looking to play a key role in supporting the smooth day-to-day running of a busy primary school.
The Role:
As School Finance Officer, you will support the school's financial and administrative operations, helping to ensure that financial processes are accurate, efficient and well organised.
Key responsibilities may include:
- Assisting with the day-to-day financial administration of the school.
- Processing invoices, payments and purchase orders.
- Monitoring expenditure and maintaining accurate financial records.
- Supporting budget monitoring and financial reporting.
- Liaising with suppliers, staff and external contacts regarding financial matters.
- Providing general administrative and office support as required.
- Maintaining confidentiality and ensuring financial information is handled accurately and securely.
The Ideal School Finance Officer:
We are looking for someone who is proactive, professional and has excellent attention to detail.
- Previous experience in a school finance or school office role
- Strong administrative and organisational skills
- Good numeracy skills and confidence working with financial information
- Excellent IT skills and experience using Microsoft Office
- The ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines
- Strong communication skills and a professional, approachable manner
- The ability to work independently as well as part of a team
Previous experience working within a school environment is highly desirable. Candidates with relevant finance or office administration experience outside of education may also be considered.
