1:1 LSA - Redbridge
Are you an experienced Learning Support Assistant who enjoys building strong relationships with pupils and providing personalised support? Academics are working with a primary school in Redbridge that is looking for a dedicated 1:1 LSA to support a KS1 pupil with ASD and ADHD.
This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who understands that every child learns differently and can provide calm, consistent and encouraging support throughout the school day.
Position: 1:1 Learning Support Assistant
Location: Redbridge
Contract: ASAP - July 2027
Pay: £93-£120 per day
Permanent Potential: Opportunity to go permanent afterwards
About the Role
You will work on a 1:1 basis with a KS1 pupil who has ASD and ADHD, helping them access their education while providing the structure and support they need throughout the school day.
The pupil benefits from regular brain breaks and classroom breaks, so the successful candidate will need to be patient, observant and able to recognise when the pupil needs time away from the classroom before helping them return ready to learn.
You will work closely with the class teacher and wider school team to provide consistent support and help the pupil build confidence, independence and positive relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide dedicated 1:1 support to a KS1 pupil.
- Support a pupil with ASD and ADHD.
- Assist with classroom learning and activities.
- Provide appropriate brain breaks and classroom breaks.
- Encourage positive behaviour and engagement.
- Help the pupil develop independence and confidence.
- Build a trusting and positive relationship with the pupil.
- Communicate effectively with the class teacher and wider team.
Candidate Requirements
- Previous experience supporting children is advantageous.
- Experience with ASD and/or ADHD is beneficial.
- Understanding of additional needs and individual support strategies.
- Calm, patient and consistent approach.
- Ability to recognise and respond to individual needs.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Enhanced DBS or willingness to apply.
