Pay - Β£93-Β£105 (depending on experience)
We are looking for an experienced Complex Needs Teaching Assistant to join a specialist school in Liverpool. The school supports students with a range of complex physical and learning disabilities, and they are looking for teaching assistants to join their team.
This role is ideal for individuals who have a background in care or support work, or have had experience with complex needs before. For the school, individuals have to be genuinely passionate about supporting students and their development, alongside having previous experience in a similar role. Key Responsibilities:
1:1 and Small Group Support: Assist teachers in delivering engaging, tailored lessons and activities for pupils with severe learning difficulties (SLD) and profound multiple learning difficulties (PMLD).
Personal Care: Provide high standards of personal care, dignity, and hygiene support as required.
Communication & Engagement: Utilise alternative and augmentative communication (AAC), sensory integration techniques, and visual aids to help students express themselves and access the curriculum.
Progress Monitoring: Assist in tracking student development, managing behaviours of concern with empathy and de-escalation techniques, and supporting physical therapy or medical plans.
What we are looking for:
Experience
SEND experience / background in care/support work / Teaching Assistant experience
Location
Based in Liverpool or able to travel there
SEND Knowledge
Knowledge of PMLD, SLD and the role of a Complex Needs Teaching Assistant
Experience in personal care, PEG feeding, medical administration is advantageous
