Academics are currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Year 5 teacher to join one of their 2-form entry primary schools in East Leeds. This is a long-term position starting after October half term 2026 until the end of the academic year. The school prides itself on its inclusive ethos and supportive team. This Year 5 teacher will bring creativity, resilience, and a passion for meeting the needs of every learner. Previous experience supporting pupils with additional needs would be highly beneficial.
As a Year 5 teacher, you will:
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons in line with the curriculum
- Differentiating effectively to support children with a range of abilities
- Work collaboratively with colleagues in the year group and across the school
- Build positive relationships with pupils, parents and the wider school community
The ideal Year 5 teacher will:
- Hold QTS or equivalent
- Have proven classroom experience, ideally in Key Stage 2
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of strategies for supporting SEND and EAL pupils
- Be committed to ensuring every child reaches their full potential
- Have DBS on the update service or be willing to apply for one
