Do you enjoy working with younger children and helping them build confidence during the early stages of their education? Academics are currently recruiting for a KS1 Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Barking & Dagenham.
This is a great opportunity for a caring and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant looking for a long-term position, with the added opportunity to secure a permanent role at the end of the contract.
Position: KS1 Teaching Assistant
Location: Barking & Dagenham
Contract: ASAP until July 2027, with the opportunity to go permanent afterwards
Pay: £93-£120 per day
Start Date: ASAP
About the Role
Working within Key Stage 1, you will support pupils with their day-to-day learning, helping them develop academically, socially and emotionally.
You will work alongside the class teacher to support lessons, small-group activities and individual pupils where needed. Building positive relationships will be an important part of the role, helping children feel confident, settled and ready to learn.
Whether you're an experienced Teaching Assistant or have relevant experience working with children, this could be an excellent opportunity to develop your career within a primary school environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Support pupils across KS1.
- Assist with classroom activities and daily routines.
- Provide one-to-one and small-group support.
- Encourage positive behaviour and engagement.
- Help children develop confidence and independence.
- Work alongside the class teacher and wider school team.
- Support an inclusive and positive learning environment.
Candidate Requirements
- Previous experience working with children is advantageous.
- A genuine passion for supporting young learners.
- Patient, caring and enthusiastic approach.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
