Mental Health & Wellbeing Practitioner - West Sussex

Hours: Monday-Friday, 08:00 - 16:00, All Year Round

Are you passionate about supporting the mental health and wellbeing of young people?
Academics is recruiting a Mental Health & Wellbeing Practitioner to join an alternative provision in West Sussex, supporting pupils whose emotional, behavioural and mental health needs impact their education.
Working within a multidisciplinary team, you will deliver targeted interventions to improve pupils' wellbeing, resilience and engagement with learning.
The Role
Deliver 1:1 and small-group mental health interventions.
Support pupils with anxiety, emotional regulation, self-esteem and behavioural difficulties.
Undertake assessments and develop tailored intervention plans.
Help pupils build coping strategies, resilience and emotional wellbeing.
Adapt support for pupils with SEND and additional needs.
Work closely with teaching staff, families and external professionals.
Monitor progress, maintain records and follow safeguarding procedures.
Participate in clinical supervision and professional development.
The Ideal Candidate
Background in mental health, psychology or therapeutic support.
Experience supporting children or young people with emotional, behavioural or additional needs.
Understanding of mental health interventions and safeguarding.
Strong communication skills with a patient, empathetic approach.
Ability to build positive relationships with vulnerable young people.
Full UK driving licence and own car essential. Must be willing to travel across multiple West Sussex sites (business mileage reimbursed).
