Maths Teacher - Specialist SEN School - Hemel Hempstead

We are currently recruiting a Maths Teacher in Hemel Hempstead to join a specialist educational setting supporting young people aged 7-16 with autism, ADHD and associated complex needs.
The successful candidate will teach exclusively at KS4, delivering GCSE Maths lessons to pupils who benefit from an individualised approach to education. This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated Maths Teacher who can bring creativity, patience and enthusiasm to the classroom, helping pupils develop confidence and overcome barriers to learning.
The setting takes a therapeutic and individualised approach, recognising that pupils need to feel safe, understood and supported before they can fully engage with their education.
The Role:
- Plan and deliver engaging Maths lessons exclusively to KS4 pupils.
- Prepare pupils for GCSE Maths examinations, adapting teaching to suit individual abilities.
- Develop confidence across key mathematical topics and examination techniques.
- Identify gaps in knowledge and provide targeted interventions.
- Differentiate lessons to accommodate varying abilities and individual EHCP targets.
- Make Maths accessible through practical examples and real-world applications.
- Monitor progress and work collaboratively with support staff to maximise pupil achievement.
The Ideal Candidate:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Strong subject knowledge and a genuine passion for Mathematics.
- Experience working with pupils with autism, ADHD or additional needs would be beneficial.
- Confident delivering GCSE-level content and preparing pupils for examinations.
- Able to adapt teaching methods to support pupils with different learning styles.
- Patient, approachable and confident building positive relationships.
- Resilient and committed to achieving the best possible outcomes for young people.
Salary: £39,000-£55,000 per annum, depending on experience.
