Academics are currently looking for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Eastbourne, providing 1:1 support to a KS1 pupil. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Teaching Assistant who is passionate about supporting children with additional needs and helping them thrive both academically and personally.
The Role:
- Provide dedicated 1:1 support to a KS1 pupil with additional needs
- Build a positive and trusting relationship with the pupil
- Support their learning, development and engagement in the classroom
- Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to provide consistent support
- Help promote the pupil's confidence, independence and wellbeing
- Adapt support to meet the individual needs of the child
The Ideal Candidate:
- At least 6 months' experience supporting SEN pupils within a UK school setting - essential
- Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant or Learning Support Assistant
- A patient, nurturing and consistent approach
- Confident supporting children on a 1:1 basis
- Strong understanding of the needs of children with SEN
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willing to apply for one
